Liberty University graduation photos — by a photographer who's already on campus.

I love this school. I'm a Liberty student myself, and I photograph campus life as a student photographer on the Photography Team in Liberty University's Marketing Department. That means I know this campus the way you do. I know where the light lands on the Academic Lawn at golden hour, and how to time a session so the Monogram feels like it's all yours.

Your graduation photos should feel like the four years that led up to them: your people, your places, your story. My energy matches graduation day. It is loud, it is happy, it is a little bit chaotic, and that is exactly the kind of day I love to shoot. You bring the cap and gown. I'll handle the posing and the hype. Curious what a session with me looks like? My graduation page walks through the whole experience. How long is a session? Long enough to get you comfortable and get the shots — we'll plan timing and the rest of the details together before your day.

(My photo sessions are my own small business and aren't affiliated with or endorsed by Liberty University.)

Favorite campus spots for graduation photos

I'm biased and I'll own it — Liberty's campus is gorgeous, and I have favorites. Part of my job is knowing when each one is at its best:

  • The Freedom Tower — the classic Liberty shot, and the one your family will frame.
  • The Academic Lawn — open green space and beautiful evening light.
  • DeMoss Hall & the eagle fountain — the fountain out front makes an easy, classic frame.
  • The LU Monogram on Liberty Mountain — worth the trip up for sunset sessions.
  • The Hancock Welcome Center — where your Liberty story probably started.

Before you plan around any of these: Liberty's photography policy means a campus session gets cleared with the University's Marketing Office ahead of time. I take care of that part, and I'll tell you early if a spot won't work rather than let you get attached to it. Want something different anyway? Downtown Lynchburg's Riverfront Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway overlooks outside town make beautiful second locations.

Graduation day is a crowd — bring all of them

Your parents are here. So are your grandparents, your roommates, the friend who drove all night and somebody's little brother who will not stand still. Getting every one of them into the right frame at the right moment, while everybody is still in a good mood, is a real skill and it is the one I am proudest of. I'll call the names, I'll keep it moving, and you'll get the photo your family actually came for without anybody feeling marched around.

Liberty graduation photo questions, answered

When should I book my Liberty graduation photos?

Liberty's commencement is May 13-15, 2027, and most grads book their May sessions between January and March. If you want a spring session while campus is in bloom, reach out in the fall or early winter. Fall sessions are a great option too, and summer is the time to ask about them.

I graduate in December - when do I take photos?

Liberty confers December degrees but holds its one Commencement each May, so December grads walk in the spring. Most December grads shoot in the fall, while campus is still green. Some come back in May. Either works - I am here year-round.

Where on campus do sessions happen?

Anywhere that matters to you. Favorites include the Freedom Tower, the Academic Lawn, DeMoss Hall and the eagle fountain, the LU Monogram on Liberty Mountain, and the Hancock Welcome Center - plus downtown Lynchburg spots like Riverfront Park if you want variety.

What does a graduation session cost?

Full details of what my graduation sessions include are on my graduation page, and I will walk you through everything when you inquire.

Can family and friends join the session?

Yes, please bring them - the more the better! We will make time for family and group shots, and some of my favorite frames are the hugs after the cap toss. That is the one that ends up staying on the fridge.

Now booking 2026–27 grads — let's go have some fun
