Wedding photographer in Montgomery County, PA — Pottstown is home base.

Most of Montgomery County is a short drive for me, and a familiar one. I know which fields at Valley Forge glow in the evening, and which back roads get you to a ceremony on time when Route 422 doesn't cooperate.

I shoot weddings the way I'd want mine shot: warm, unhurried, and mostly out of the way. You'll get direction when you need it, and family photos move fast with me: I keep a list, I call the names, and I have everybody back to the party before they notice they left. Then I step back so the day can just happen. What you keep afterwards are the real faces, not the posed ones.

Hopewell Furnace — an old iron-making village just up the road, with a texture nothing else around here has.

What areas do you cover in Pennsylvania?

Pottstown is my home base, so all of Montgomery County is close to home, and I regularly shoot across Chester County, Berks County and the greater Philadelphia area. I travel further for the right wedding.

Which local venues do you like?

Valley Forge National Historical Park for open fields and stone, French Creek State Park and Hopewell Furnace for woods and history, and Longwood Gardens for portraits. Longwood requires a photography permit arranged in advance, and I am happy to walk you through how that works.

Do I need a permit for photos at Longwood Gardens?

Yes. Longwood Gardens handles portrait sessions by permit, applied for ahead of time and subject to their approval and fee. Plan on arranging it several weeks out, and check their current terms directly with the Gardens before you book a date.

How far ahead do couples usually book?

Most couples book their photographer ten to fifteen months out. If your date is closer than that, ask anyway - sometimes it works out.

Do you photograph engagement sessions too?

Yes, and I push for it. An engagement session is a low-pressure way to get comfortable with me before the wedding day, and you end up with photos you can use for save-the-dates. By the time your wedding rolls around I am not a stranger with a camera - I am the person who already made you laugh once.
